Chainsmokers Blow Their Way to the Top.

Alex Paul and Andrew Taggart make up the production and American DJ duo the Chainsmokers. Although they had a breakthrough song in 2014, “Selfie”, their actual debut album wasn’t released until October 2015. The single “Roses” from this album made it to the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100! Winning the Grammy Award for the best dance recording. their single “Don’t let me Down” became their 1st top 5 single on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. The name of the duo is speculated to be because of one of the members constant marijuana smoking in college, however one member of the duo claims that “Chainsmokers” is just a name. Irregardless of where the name came from the duo has certainly come a long way from remixing Indie bands.

Since their debut The Chainsmokers have won 28 awards over all and have been nominated for so many more. Their awards include categories such as The Best Remix for the song “Something Just Like This” in 2018, Best New DJ in 2016, Both Dance Artist and Dance Album of the Year in 2018, Favorite Electronic/Dance Music Artist in 2017 as well as many other awards and categories. In January 2018 The Chainsmokers attended the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Aside from that The Chainsmokers own Andrew Taggart won an award for Songwriter of the year in April 2018 at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. In his acceptance speech he is still in a state of awe over the award claiming that he still doesn’t know what he’s doing. Obviously, he’s doing something right. With all the work that is put into all of their music it’s no wonder they were able to snag up an Grammy Award for the Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance with Coldplay for their hit song, “Something Just Like This.”

  1. Like with most trends I think it serves special purpose to really realize that there will be more positives to take out from now on. Gratitude really for ukbestessays because it has long created that awareness for people since there is some areas to forget really. Nothing will change if there will not be initiative to have someone to step up the game and really take the opportunity to the next level.
