Robert Ivy receives the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Ivy is a veteran architect who today serves as the CEO and Executive Vice President of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Since 2011, he has been holding this position of leadership and helping the architect’s fraternity to become stronger. AIA is the oldest and the largest body of architects in the United States. Robert Ivy has been a unique architect all his career life. His contributions to the profession are things he is proud of. It is not just himself who thinks he has done well but also distinguished persons in the United States who form the panel that awards the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. Ivy is the winner of this year’s award which is awarded by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters.


Ivy becomes the first architect to win this award in its history. The award goes to persons who have shown exceptional contribution in supporting art. Ivy has done that all his life. He has been supporting architecture all his career. His wish is to see the profession grow in such a way that it offers solutions to the people.



Robert Ivy has received recognition for the role he has played in bringing architecture close to the people. He has shown that architecture is not just about building and construction; there are other applications which need the input of architecture.
